Review:

The book a decent read for being a YA quick thriller. I enjoyed the story overall and the secret that Dylan was hiding as it’s not often talked about and the trauma it causes the survivor. I enjoyed the characters as well and thought the difference in family is what I have seen through experience with social services and the kid’s feeling about being in foster care. I think the trauma in this story is very real and was well researched on how the system works and the real aspects of being a child in foster care or a behavioral rehabilitation program. I would have enjoyed it a little more if there were more thriller parts as it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be. I am interested in reading her other small thriller reads.

Synopsis:

Spending the night in the woods with your friends is not a good idea in this scary thriller by the author of ESCAPE ROOM.

Sofia isn’t so sure about Fright Night. When she suggested it to her friends, she was only thinking of it as an excuse to get closer to Dylan. Now that it’s happening, she’s worried that spending the night in a deserted forest is a bad idea.

But it’s totally safe–there’s even a safe word if things get too intense. And they do. Sofia and her friends are forced to face their greatest fears, and suddenly? It’s too late to turn back.
